Beach

On the south side of Nadgee Point is a narrow 200 m long strip of high tide sand and cobbles (NSW 719), located at the base of 15 m high bluffs and fronted by a shallow 50–100 wide rocky reefs, with waves averaging 1.5 m breaking across the reef. This is a hazardous beach suitable only for fishing.

 

General

To the south of Newtons Beach is 17 km of predominantly resilient red rocky shore that trends south to the Victorian border at Cape Howe, where the coast turns to the southwest. In between are six sandy beaches all located at the mouth of small creeks. The entire section is located within Nadgee Nature Reserve with restricted access to these little visited beaches. The northern 5 km are backed by slopes rising to 300 m, while to the south lower coastal heath and Impressa, Nadgee and Endeavour moors back the shore.
