The low bedrock section which forms the boundary extends for 5 km to the east. It contains six intervening beaches (NT 644-649) each bordered by low laterite rocky points, together with a scattering of rock reefs off the beaches. In addition irregular ridged sand flats extend 500-700 m offshore. Beach NT 644 is an arcuate, 700 m long, north-facing beach, located between low rocky points. Low red bluffs back the narrow eastern end, while the beach widens to the west where it is backed by one to two low beach-foredune ridges.
