Beach

Beaches Q 80-82 are part of a curving, 3 km long, west-southwest-facing, bluffed embayment, with two protrusions in the bluffs cutting the sandy beach into three. Beach Q 80 occupies the first 800 m long section, beach Q 81 a 300 m long central section and beach Q 82 the northern 1.7 km long section which curves round to face south in lee of the northern bluffs. The bluffs average 10 m in height and are scarped for the most part, with some sections fronted by vegetated bluff debris. The beaches all consist of a moderately steep high tide beach, some parts littered in red laterite boulders, fronted by a continuous low tide bar, which widens in lee of the northern point. A straight vehicle track from North Camp reaches the top of the bluffs in lee of beach Q 82, with tracks then running along the top of the bluffs the length of the three beaches.
