Beach

Baby Lizard is the name of the area at the end of the Ilfracombe Road where there is a car park and basic camping area on the 20 m high calcarenite cliffs. Immediately below the car park is a 100 m long high tide sand beach (430) fronted by an intertidal calcarenite platform, then a 50 m wide surf breaking over deeper reefs, with a left hand break running in toward the beach.

Swimming

These are five hazardous beaches both because of the higher waves, prevalence of rips and in places the rocks and reefs. Use extreme care if swimming here.

Surfing

There is a good left reef break at Baby Lizard called The Spit, and beach breaks along both Constance and Formby Bays, the latter known as Trespassers.

Fishing

These are all good spots for both rock, reef and beach fishing, with usually good rip holes along Formby Bay.

General

Five reasonably accessible beaches, with a camping area at Baby Lizard, mainly used by fishers and more experienced surfers.
