Beach

Three kilometers north of Red Banks is a small rocky embayment called D’Anville Bay. It contains a 120 m long high tide sand beach (836), backed by 60 m high cliffs and fronted by a reef strewn 300 m wide high energy surf zone.

Swimming

This is a very hazardous section of shore that has claimed several lives, particularly of people being washed off the rocks. The only beaches to consider swimming at are Fishery Bay and possibly Red Banks; the rest are very dangerous and mostly inaccessible.

Surfing

The best surf is at Fishery Bay during moderate to higher swell, when both points provide left and right breaks.

Fishing

This is a popular fishing area, but fish the beach rips to stay safe, as rock fishing is extremely hazardous along this section of coast.

General

A spectacular section of high cliffed coast, containing a smattering of small beaches.
