Beach

Ingram Bay is a 700 m wide bay bordered by low sand-capped rocky points and reefs, with beach T 868 curving for 600 m between the two sides of the bay. Symes Creek drains across the southern end of the beach into the small rocky Driftwood Cove. The beach faces west out of the open bay, however rock reefs dot the bay and extend up to 1 km seaward of the beach lowering waves to about 1 m at the shore. The waves break across the inner reefs and a low gradient 50 m wide bar, with higher waves breaking over the numerous outer rocks and reefs. The beach is backed by a steep vegetated foredune rising to 30 m in places, with a wetland behind. The Sandy Cape track runs 1 km inland with a sidetrack out to the creek mouth.
