Beach

Apollo Bay Boat Harbour was constructed in the 1950s, replacing a jetty that ran out from the southern end of the beach. The harbour, however, continues to fill with sand and requires constant dredging. The sand that accumulates in the harbour forms a 300 m long beach along the southern side, with a boat ramp and jetty in the centre. There is also a large car park behind, and the harbour walls to either end.

Swimming

This is usually a quiet and relatively safe beach in against the shore, however there are dredged holes off the beach and boat traffic in the harbour.

Surfing

None in the harbour, however there is a right hand break along the western Harbour wall in a big swell.

Fishing

The harbour walls are very popular locations to fish the deeper outside water.

General

This is an artificial beach created by the harbour construction and modified by dredging. It offers good access and quieter waters, with boating activity in the harbour.
