Beach

Beach WA 90 is a relatively straight 1.7 km long beach bounded by the eastern granite headland and by a 600 m long low irregular granite section of shore to the west. A 15 km long 4WD track that originates at the Merivale Road reaches the western end of the beach. Waves average about 1.5 m and maintain permanent rips against the boundary rocks with usually five beach rips in-between. In addition Blackboy Creek drains across the beach just to the west of Tagon Point and is at times deflected a few hundred meters along the back of the berm. Active dunes extend 200-300 m inland, with older vegetated dunes up extending up to 1 km inland and climbing the slopes of the backing Tertiary siltstone.
