Yallingup reef beach (WA 715) is located in lee of a 150 m wide intertidal calcarenite platform, which is bordered to the south by the sloping granulite rocks of Slippery Rock, while to the north it merges into the main beach. The reef beach has high waves breaking over the outer edge of the reef, where the famous long Yallingup left break occurs, with generally low wave to calm conditions at the shore. The inner tidal pools, located just below the main car park and facilities, are a popular spot for families, and are relatively safe so long as you stay close to the shore and well clear of the outer waves and currents. The reef is a marine reserve where rod fishing is permitted, but other methods of collected marine life prohibited.
